Virginia G. Kurtz

  Virginia G. Kurtz, 96 of Schuylkill Haven, died Wednesday at Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital, Reading.

  She was born February 22, 1922 in Pine Grove a daughter of the late John and Carrie Krause Siegfried.

  She attended Pine Grove High School and worked as a a waitress at the former Necho Allen Hotel and Quality Inn Hotel, Pottsville, prior to retiring.

  Virginia was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

  She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Kurtz on January 26, 2004; 3 brothers, Darvin, Clifford, and John Seigfried, Jr.; a sister Pauline Kemble. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Boner, Ephrata; 3 grandchildren, Kerry Wiest, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Virginia Snavely, Ephrata, Stephen Boner and his wife Wendy, Al; 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elinore Charripa, FL; nieces and nephews.

  Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday at 11:30AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:30AM until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 777 Penn Center Blvd.., Suite 200 Pittsburgh , PA 15235-5927 or American Diabetes Association 3544 N. Progress Ave Suite 101 Harrisburg, PA 17110.
