Regina E. "Jean" Yeasted

  Regina E. “Jean” Yeasted, 87, of Pottsville, died Tuesday morning at home.

  She was born May 2, 1930, in Pottsville, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Anna Paul O’Connor.

  She was a 1948 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School.

  Prior to retiring she was employed by Sears Roebuck, Pottsville.

  Jean was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and volunteered her time at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and Pottsville Soup Kitchen.

  Throughout her life, Jean was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed horseback riding.

  She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Paul O’Connor, and a sister, Nancy Rees. Surviving are her husband, Clair Yeasted, with whom she celebrated 69 years of marriage on October 16, 2017; 3 sons, Joseph Yeasted and his wife Judith, West Lawn; Jerome Yeasted and his wife Jane, Pottsville; James Yeasted and his wife Sharon, Pottsville; 2 daughters, Regina Freiler and her husband Joe, Pottsville; Kerry Swavely and her husband Ben, Birdsboro; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Monsignor Robert Wargo as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of mass Friday at the church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
