Margaret T. “Peg” Clews, 86, of Pottsville died Tuesday at the home of her daughter Barbara in Shillington.
She was born April 18, 1931 in Pottsville daughter of the late Malachi and Mary Eagan Campion.
She was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School.
She was employed by Dr. William Walters as a medical receptionist for 26 years prior to retiring.
Peg was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband James F. Clews, January 16, 2016; twin grandchildren, James & Patrick Brehony; a brother, Thomas Campion; a sister, Elizabeth Kowalsky. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Brehony and her husband Bill, Shillington; Karen Sabol and her husband Greg, Frackville; 2 grandsons, William Brehony and his wife Tina; and Michael Brehony; 3 great-grandchildren, Karleigh, Tyler and Savanah. r Sister-in-law, Janet Freeston, and her husband, John, West Lawn; Nieces and nephews: a lifelong friend, Mary Kelly, Hershey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Friday from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing Thursday from 6-8p.m. at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, and Friday from 9:30-10:15A.M at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville PA, 17901, or Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
