Dorothy “Dottie” Yaag, 81 of Mt. Airy, MD, formerly of Auburn died November 26, 2017 at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Mt Airy MD. She was born September 7, 1936 in York, PA, daughter of the late Lillian Gillespie. She graduated from Pottsville High School and then attended the Reading School of Nursing, earning a degree as a registered nurse. She married John “Jack” William Yaag in 1958. During her nursing career, she served the communities of Cleveland, OH; Milwaukee, WI; Buffalo, NY; and Takoma Park, MD. Her greatest length of service was at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park. In her years at WAH, she worked in the emergency room, labor and delivery, the OB/GYN clinic and spent the majority of her professional life serving patients in the operating room. Dottie was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Orwigsburg and at the Damascus Road Community Church in Mt Airy, MD. Surviving are her two daughters: Denise Yaag and her husband Glenn Jackson of Ashton, MD and Lori Record and her husband Roger Record of Mt. Airy, MD; 2 grandchildren: Jordan and Luke Record; brother, Bill Lee and his wife Judy, Palmyra; sister, Sandy Lindsey, Newton, IA; brother Robert Lee and his wife Carol, Schuylkill Haven; Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held Saturday, December 2, at 11:30 A.M. at Chapel of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Roger Record officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
