Margaret M. “Margie” Glunz, 63, of Pottsville died June 16, at ManorCare Health Services, Pottsville. She was born October 16, 1952 in Pottsville daughter of the late Edward and Marie Rooney Glunz. She was a 1970 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and attended Pottsville School of Technology, graduating in 1972 and received a HEW certification as a laboratory technologist in 1975. Margaret was employed as a laboratory technologist at Palmerton Hospital from 1972-197 4. She then worked for Muhlenberg Medical Center as a hematologist supervisor in Bethlehem, PA from 1974-1984. She was employed by ACUTech Labs from 1985-1986 as the 3-11, 11-7 supervisor. Margie then worked for MOS/Met Path in Reading as the hemotology/cerology supervisor until retiring in 1991. Margie member of Saint John the Baptist, Pottsville, where she acted as outreach coordinator and sang in the choir, a member of HEW/CL T and the Catholic Girl Scouts. Margie was a Marion Award recipient. She was a certified laboratory technologist, renewing her certification from the years 1976-1992. Margie is survived by her loving family of 8 siblings, Geraldine "Gee Gee", and her husband Edward Shwartz, Pottsville, Edward G. "Eddie" Glunz and his wife Natalie, Friedensburg, Marie "Ree Ree", and her husband Thomas Rehr, Texas, Elizabeth "Libby", and her husband Harold Horn, Ringtown, Francis "Frank" Glunz and his wife Elaine of Penn Run, Gregory "Greg" Glunz and his wife Dana Pine Grove, James "Jim" and his wife Connie, Orwigsburg and last but not least, Bridget Glunz-Wenner of Millersburg: nieces and nephews, Susan, Ann Margaret (goddaughter), Leo, Walker, Monica, Jonathan, Theresa, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Kristina, Jackie, Luke, Henry, Benjamin, Valerie, John Joseph and Christian (godson). She is also survived by many cousins. Maggie would like to thank her best friend Susan Bednar, Dot and Ann and nurses Lori, Mickey and Brit. She sends love forever for everything her friends and family have done for her. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday June 28th at 10:30 A.M. from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville with the Rev. David J. Loeper as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. John Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantango St. Pottsville PA, 17901.
