Ronald C. "Whitey " Heffner

Ronald C. "Whitey" Heffner, 64, of Pottsville died Wednesday evening at home. He was bornOct. 21, 1950in Pottsville son of the late Carl and Mary Cielinski Heffner. He was a 1968 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. He was employed by the City of Pottsville Street Dept for 32 years prior to retirement. Whitey was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and the West End Hose Co,. No.7, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Polony. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Carolyn Hahner,3 daughters, Pamela Heffner, Norristown, Jill Watt and her husband James, Germany, Paula Powers, Seltzer. a sister, Carol Heffner, Washington, D.C., 5 grandchildren, Aidan Watt, LaurenWatt, Claire Watt, Jake Powers and Leah Powers. Services of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 15, at5:30 P.M.from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from3:30 PM.till the time of service.
