Elizabeth M. Silcox

Elizabeth M. Silcox, 98 of Shillington, formerly of Pottsville, died Monday morning at Mifflin Center, Shillington. She was born May 31, 1916 in Buck Run daughter of the late Charles A. Shelhamer and Elizabeth Shelhamer-Shropp. Elizabeth was a member of the Pottsville High School class of 1934, Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, Circle 5 and Craft class of the church. She was also member of Pottsville Senior Citizens, and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #305. She was preceded in death by her husband Nathan R. Silcox on Feb 14, 1976; 4 brothers, Oscar, Charles, Warren & James Shelhamer; and a step-brother, William E. Schropp. Surviving are her son, David R. Silcox and his wife Mary, Shillington; 2 grandchildren, Amy Beth & Bradley Silcox; nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with the Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services Friday. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville PA, 17901.
