Ruth G. Rescorla

Ruth G. Rescorla, 80, of Pottsville died Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was born July 28, 1934 in Middleport daughter of the late Roy and Prudence Workman Angst. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and was Manager of the Deli at Weis Markets prior to retiring. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Middleport. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rescorla, on January 15, 1978: a sister, Peggy. Surviving are 2 sons, Bobby Rescorla and his wife Julie, Pottsville; D.D. Rescorla and his wife Lisa, Bernville: 3 daughters, Barbara Rescorla and her companion Larry, Mary D; Alice Bechtel and her husband David, Pottsville; Maude Becker and her husband, Bob, Seltzer: 14 siblings, Barb, Mary, Bud, Mickey, Dave, Dolly, Bobby, Allen, Teddy, Dick, Gracie, Jimmy, Bruce, and Beverly: 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews: Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with her grandson Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from Noon until the time of services Saturday. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
