Marie E. King, 82 of Pottsville, died Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St. She was born December 10, 1931 in New Philadelphia, daughter of the late George and Mary Houlihan Yeager. She was a graduate of Blythe Twp High School. She was employed as a switch board operator at the former Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic and was currently a crossing guard for the past 41 years on Nichols St. in Pottsville. Marie was member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. King on September 14, 2004; a sister, Margaret Hobin. Surviving is her son James T. King, Pottsville. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 A.M. from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, with Monsignor William F. Glosser as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call from 8:00 A.M. until the time of mass. Interment will be at the convenience of family at Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
