Joseph A. Stagliano, 70 of Pottsville, died Wednesday morning. He was born February 7, 1944 in Pottsville son of the late Anthony and Frances Papapietro Stagliano. He was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, St. Charles Borromo Seminary, Philadelphia and Marywood University, where he received his teaching degree. He was an the Army veteran serving as a Chaplin during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of 2nd Lt. He was a employed by the Pottsville Area School District where he taught Latin at Pottsville Area High School, prior to retiring in 2000. Joe was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Surviving are his wife the former Mary Buckley to whom he was married to for 42 years; 5 children, Antonius Stagliano and his wife Kelly, Mt. Joy; Marcus Stagliano and his wife Kerry, Tarpon Spring, FL; Mara Rakowski and her husband Ricky, Montoursville; Noah Stagliano, Bloomsburg; Aaron Stagliano and his wife Tiffany, Bloomsburg: 7 grandchildren. Graveside memorial and interment service will be held Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
