Julia J. Hanlon, 88, of Pottsville, died Friday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was born April 18, 1925 in Minersville daughter of the late Stephen and Lucy Tobin Hoptak. She was a graduate of Blythe Township High School and was co-owner of Hanlon Tractor Company, Five Points. Julia was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hanlon, on April 8, 1993: 2 brothers, Michael and James Hoptak: a sister, Helen Farrow. Surviving are 2 daughters, Judy Seaman, and Lucy Boardman, both of Pottsville: 2 sisters, Lucinda Markus, Cumbola, and Margaret Header, Pottsville: 5 grandchildren, Robert and Michael Boardman, John Boardman and his wife Stacey, Julia Leiby and her husband, David, James Lilek and his wife Christa: 9 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville PA, 17901 or Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville PA 17901. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
