Mary F. Roda

Mary F. Roda, 88, of Pottsville, died Thursday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was born October 27, 1925 in Pottsville, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Perry Roda. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and attended the former Penn State Pottsville. She was employed by the former Lango Market, Green's Jewelry and Seltzer Meats, all of Pottsville, prior to retiring. Mary was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, the church Women's Guild, Business and Professional Women's Club, where she was a past president and district 9 director. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; 5 sisters, Rose Tucci, Mamie Dicello, Sarah Ricottelli, Eleanor Korn, and Louise Tucci. Surviving is her close friend Joan Strause, Pottsville; many nieces nephews, grand nieces, and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. At Mary's request there will be no calling hours. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
