Catherine L. Kemple, 95 of Pottsville, died Wednesday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was born May 6, 1918 in Taylorsville, daughter of the late John and Lottie Green Bush. She was graduate of Ashland High School and Bloomsburg University. She was teacher having taught at the former Mt. Hope Elementary School and later John S. Clarke Elementary Center, prior to retiring. Catherine was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, the Pottsville Club, PSERS, and served on the board for the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel T. Kemple on July 3, 2001 and her son, Daniel R. Kemple, on June 27, 2001. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Seltzer and her husband Daniel, Philadelphia: a sister, Dorothy Klinger, Valley View; and a brother, Richard Bush, Philadelphia: 2 grandchildren, Brian Seltzer and his fiancé Bari Goldberg, and Molly Seltzer; a daughter in-law Laura Kemple Hicksville, NY: nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Monsignor Edward J. O'Connor as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass at the church. The family would prefer remembrances in form on contributions made to Schuylkill County Council for the Arts 1440 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, New Philadelphia. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
