Ruth Littman Kimber

Ruth Littman Kimber, RN, 93 of Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven, PA formerly of Elmira N.Y. died Friday morning at Rest Haven. She was born January 5, 1920 in Sheboygan WI, daughter of the late Arthur and Meta Littman. Ruth graduated from Nursing School in 1939. On August 14, 1944 she married her husband Raymond Horace Kimber at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI. She then moved to Elmira, New York in 1949 where her husband owned and operated R.H. Kimber Optical until his death in 2000. Ruth was very proud of her nursing career as a coronary care nurse at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY. She was a proud member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Elmira and the Elmira Country Club. She was also an avid duplicate bridge player. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur and Lester Littman; a grandson, Timothy R. Kimber in 1999. Surviving are her 3 children, Ronald Kimber and his wife Judy, Pottsville, PA; Richard Kimber and his wife Beverly, Reading, PA; and Carol Blank Farr, Elmira, NY: grandchildren, Bill Kimber, Anne Kimber Grabowski, Lynn and Eunice Kimber, Jason Blank, Jessica Blank Getman, Shelby Kimber and Heather Kimber Wence; 9 1/2 great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to a Charity of your choice. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
