Beatrice L. "Bea" Engleman

Beatrice L. "Bea" Engleman, 70, of Pottsville, died Thursday morning at the Outpatient Hospice of Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was born June 13, 1943 in Hempstead Plains, NY daughter of the late William J. and Marguarite Showers Scanlon. She graduated from High School in Yomato, Japan and was accepted as a member of the graduating class of 1961 at Pottsville High School. She also graduated from Delaware School of Nursing and attained her L.P.N. Degree. Bea was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville and attended Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville where she was a member of the Tuesday Women's Fellowship and Quilters Club. She was also a member of the Anthracite Bowl Committee and a life member of the former Pottsville Area School District P.T.A. Surviving are her husband, Robert A. Engleman Sr., to whom she was married for 37 years, a son, Robert A. Engleman, Jr., Pottsville: a sister Ellen M. Butler, Charlotte N.C. : Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Pastor James R. Fidler officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services Monday. The family would prefer remembrance in form of contributions made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 316 W. Market St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
