Carl I. Bensinger, Sr.

Carl I. Bensinger, Sr., 62, of Pottsville, died Thursday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian St. He was born February 2, 1951 in Pottsville son of the late Edward and Betty Reber Bensinger. He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and attended Penn State University. He was employed by Kraft Tech prior to retiring and later worked for the Schuylkill News Agency. Carl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where he was an active member of the Kitchen Committee, serving as co-chairman. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Kenny, Roy and David. Surviving are his wife of 28 years the former Ruth Moyer; 5 children, Tina McDonald and her husband, Michael, Schuylkill Haven, Carl I. Jr., and his wife Sherri, Kristine, Andrew, and Megan, all of Pottsville: siblings, Barry, Schuylkill Haven; Mary Brewer and her husband Rick, Indiana, Ed and his wife Cathy, Schuylkill Haven: 7 grandchildren, Miranda Bainbridge, Zach, Erin McDonald, McKinley Spencer, Cassandra, Allison McDonald, and Ryan McDonald; 1 great-grandson, Ethan Yost; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr. and Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeffer officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will private at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville, PA 17901. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
