Donald E. Adams, 98, of Pottsville died Saturday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. He was born May 9, 1914 in Dowdentown son of the late Raymond and Rheda Ditzel Adams. He attended Pottsville Schools and was owner of D.E. Adams Trucking. Donald was a member of Auburn Boat Club and the former Greenwood Hill Fire Company. Through out his life he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed water skiing, hunting, and snowmobiling with his grandchildren, who were his life. Lake Wallenpaupack was a constant destination for outdoor activities. He also enjoyed card playing, pool shooting and traveling in his motor home. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gwendolyn Shay; a brother, Bob Adams and a sister, Leona Shoener; a grandson Douglas Johnson; a great-grandson, Mark Guensch, a son-in-law William Johnson; Surviving are 2 daughters: Connie A. Guensch and her husband Charles, Pottsville; and Rita Johnson, Stroudsburg; 4 grandchildren Craig and David Guensch, William and David Johnson; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 A. M. at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. James Rinehart officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville.
