John C. Connell

John C.Connell, 96, formerly of Pottsville died Friday at Middletown Home, Middletown. He was born May 29, 1916 in Pottsville son of the late John and Theresa Montag Connell. He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and was the owner of the former First United Seafood, Reading. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and served in the South Pacific. John was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Life Member of Good Intent Fire Co., Knights of Columbus, Council No. 431, Catholic War Veterans, Post No. 1029 all of Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Brixious and a brother, George. Surviving are a sister, Marie Burns and her husband Francis, Orwigsburg, many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Doctor Luis R. Viscot officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:00 PM till the time of service. Interment will be at St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
