Kevin P. Brennan

Kevin P. Brennan, 58, of Pottsville, died peacefully Thursday at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 18, 1955 in Pottsville and was the oldest son of Jeremiah C. And the late Katherine J. Kelly Brennan.

He was a 1973 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and attended Kings College.

He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 38 years.

Kevin was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and was known and recognized for his countless volunteer activities throughout the area. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, JFK Division # 2, Knights of Columbus, National Rural Letter Carriers Association and was an active volunteer firefighter and lifetime member of the Good Intent Fire Company. Kevin was a coach of many St. Patrick's CYO Boy's and Girl's Basketball teams. He served as District 4 Commissioner for the Allentown Diocese CYO. He coached in both the junior and senior divisions for Pottsville Girl's Softball League. He was also a past president of the Lebanon Valley College Parent's Football Association.

In addition to his mother, who died in 1998, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Ann, 1956, a brother in law Richard Dimm, 2010 and his mother in law Elizabeth Bettick, 2010:

Surviving are his wife of 31 years the former Terry Bettick; 3 children, Kelly Marie Lombel and her husband, Christopher, Pottsville, Joseph Jeremiah, Harrisburg, Bridy Kate, a student at Kutztown University, his father, siblings Gerald, Pottsville, Erin and her husband, Vincent Matthews NY, NY, Megan, McMurray, PA, Brian and his wife Colleen, Brigid McFadden and her husband Michael all of Pottsville, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Monsignor Edward J. O'Connor as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call for 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. Monday evening at the church. At family request there will be no calling hours prior to the mass Tuesday morning. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to Nativity Football and Baseball, 1 Lawton Hill, Pottsville PA, 17901, Pottsville Area High School Track & Field, 1501 West Laurel Boulevard Pottsville, PA 17901 and St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery Pottsville.
