Jim C. Wire, 93, of Schuylkill Haven, died Tuesday afternoon at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven. He was December 20, 1919 in New Middletown, OH, son of the late Clyde O. and Lizzie Floor Wire. He attended Petersburg Schools, in Ohio. He was an army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre where he was the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars. He was employed by Buckeye Pipeline Co., Allentown, prior to retiring in 1989. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Wire; 3 sisters, Dorothy and Margaret Wire, Lilah Flickinger: Surviving are his wife of 32 years the former Carolyn Hosler; a stepson Scott, Los Angeles, CA; nieces and nephews. Services and Interment will be private at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr., officiating. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contribution made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville PA, 17901. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
