Edward C. "Ed" Terefencko, 64, of Pottsville, died Sunday morning at home. He was born January 27, 1948 in Minersville son of the late John and Julie Rinaldo Terefencko. He was a 1965 graduate of Minersville Area High School and an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He later enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard with the 28th Aviation Unit at Fort Indiantown Gap. Ed was a deputy Game Protector with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. He later worked as police officer with the City of Pottsville prior to retiring in 2005. After retirement he was assistant manager of the Gun Library at Cabelas. Ed was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #44, Pottsville, Pulaski Lodge #216 F&AM, Pottsville, National Wild Turkey Federation, N.R.A., Safari Club, and the Pottsville Club. Ed enjoyed any outdoor activity. He enjoyed golfing, and was a avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed fishing trips to Quebec. Ed cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Janet Beadle; a son, Edward M. and his wife Jennifer; a daughter, Marla Diane, all of Pottsville; a sister, Pat Gravish, Iselin, NJ: 2 grandchildren, Michael and Ava Marie; an uncle, Mike DeMarco, Fleetwood; cousins. Services Celebrating Ed's Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Pastor James R. Fidler officiating. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday evening from 6:00P.M.-8:00 P.M. and Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
