Louise J. Mason, 74, of Pottsville, died Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St. She was born December 5, 1937 in Pottsville daughter of the late Lewis and Miriam Freese Tassone. She attended Pottsville High School and was a waitress for 45 years having worked at Nancy-Lee Diner, the Manheim Diner, and finished her career at P&T Phase II, Pottsville. Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, a Democratic Committee women for the 5th ward, 3rd precinct, and was a former member of the Greater Pottsville Area Sewer Authority. She was preceded in death by a step-brother, Richard Heffner, and a sister Donna Spitler. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, William "Bill" Mason, Pottsville: 3 daughters, Debbie Shoener, and her husband Daniel, Pottsville; Donna "Chunky" Betz, Pottsville and Billie Ann Engle and her husband Paul, Hamburg: 2 sisters, Patricia Ragen, Del; Clair Schultz, Pottsville, and a brother Ned Heffner, Orwigsburg: 7 grandchildren, Dale, Brad, Allen, Danbrielle, Samantha, Tina, and Paulie: 5 great-grandchildren, Dayla, Kalea, Jamie, Mikala, Ally Anna, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeffer officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
