Rose Anne Sturgill Akers Steidle, 57, of Pottsville for the past 13 years formerly of Pikeville, KY, died peacefully Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street Pottsville, just after a little over a year battling Lou Gehrig Disease. She was born July 22, 1954 in Lexington, KY, daughter of the late Norman and Carma Honeycutt Sturgill. She was a 1972 graduate of Betsy Lane High School and earned an associate degree in accounting, art and music from Prestonsburg Community College and was a 1995 graduate of Morehead State University where she earned a Bachelors in Early Education and a teaching certificate for grades K-3. Rose was the founder and co-owner of Rose's Collectibles Ltd. Pottsville, and was a consultant for Longaberger baskets, Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was also an Avon Representative. Rose was a member of Main Street Church of Christ Pikeville, KY. Rose also enjoyed hosting Discovery Toy Parties. She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew N. Akers. Surviving are her husband of 13 years Bruce B. Steidle, Pottsville: a daughter, Emily G. Akers, and her companion Shane Yoder, Pottsville: an aunt Dorothy Limburg, of KY: an uncle, Franklin Honeycutt of KY, 2 step-sons, Timothy and Joseph Steidle: : 1 brother in law, 4 sisters in law: 3 grandchildren who she was very proud of Devin, Jordan and Dominic, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
