Kathryn J. Penberth

Kathryn J. Penberth, 88, formerly of Luther Ridge, Pottsville died Saturday night at Orwigsburg Center. She was born February 3, 1923 in Cressona daughter of the late George H. and Gertude L. Cook Ebert. She was a 1941 graduate of Cressona High School and was employed by the former Good Samaritan Hospital and later the former Boltz Knitting Mill, retiring in 1988. Kathryn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Penberth, Sr., in 1984 and a sister, Eva Elston Yoder. Surviving are a son, Charles J. Jr., Berlyn, N.J.: 3 daughters, Karen Keys, Pottsville, Cheryl Wiscount, Tremont, and April Carroll, Schuylkill Haven: 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren: nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with the Rev. Darcy M. Reis officiating. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Trinity Lutheran Church 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville, PA 17901.
