Alice Leona Dusel, 85, of Pottsville, died Friday at Manor Care, Pottsville. She was born May 6, 1925 in Pottsville daughter of the late Samuel and Myrtle Steckley Carl and attended Minersville Schools. Alice was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Many years of her life were devoted to waitressing in restaurants in the City of Pottsville. She waitressed at the Federal Lunch, Coney Island, Sugar Bowl and retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital, Housekeeping Dept. in 1990. Alice was a very loving, caring, and compassionate person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Dusel on May 9, 1971: an infant daughter, Ann Marie Dusel and a son, Albert J. Dusel in 1998. Surviving are 2 daughters, Elizabeth Fredrick and her husband Jerome and Kathleen Honnage and her husband, Robert: a son, Robert L. Dusel, Sr. and his wife Marie, all of Pottsville: a brother, Leonard Carl and his wife Jeanne, Lemoyne. 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild: nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with the Very Rev. Ronald Barusefski officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the service on Wednesday. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to Hillside S.P.C.A. P.O. Box 233 Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. John No.2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
