George G. Smith

George G. Smith, 82, of Pottsville died Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson. He was born September 26, 1928 in Pottsville son of the late Royal H. and Josephine Stewart Smith. He was a 1947 graduate of Pottsville High School and served with the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the former Sears Roebuck and Co., Pottsville and attended First Presbyterian Church in St. Clair. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Stout in April of 2004. Surviving are his wife, the former Marian M. Lehman, to whom he was married for 60 years: 4 daughters, Mary Jo Grube, Kutztown, Margaret Rowlands, Tremont, Claire Derk, West Milton and Georgene McKinley, Clayton, New York: 7 grandchildren: 9 great grandchildren. Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
