Marion Kerry Verbelia, 68, of Pottsville died Monday at home in accordance with her wishes and in the company of her family and friends. She was born October 8, 1941 in Pottsville daughter of the late Anthony J. and Rosemary Kilker Kerry. She was a proud 1959 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and Empire Beauty School. She attended Immaculata College, Philadelphia. She was a licensed beautician and was employed as a medical secretary at the former Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic and was a nurse's assistant at Blue Mountain Middle School. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church Pottsville, and member of Business and Professional Women, Pottsville. She was a volunteer and ardent supporter of the Hillside S.P.C.A. as well as a supporting many charities dedicated to the welfare of children especially St. Jude Children's Hospital. She was an avid sports fan, amateur ornithologist and a successful gardener. She was a devoted friend and will be missed by all whose lives she enriched especially the flock of birds who weather each winter snug in their insulated birdhouse. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband retired Lt. Commander, Joseph J. Verbelia, United States Navy, in 1997. She is survived by her son, Gregory M. Miller and his wife Nancy, Reading: 3 grandchildren Kirsten, Ryan, and Morgan Miller: numerous cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Hillside S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 233, Pottsville PA 17901 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.
