William J. Dorasavage, 89, formerly of Pottsville, died Friday at home in Rockville, MD. He was born September 26, 1920 in Shenandoah, the son of the late Dr. William C. and Mary Unitas Dorasavage. He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and Catholic University of America Law School, Washington D.C. He served as a Captain in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was Chief of the Bureau of Land Management, Department of the Interior, for the Eastern States. He was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph, a brother, John, and a sister, Margaret Monahan. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Workun, with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage this month. 4 daughters: Mary Suzanne Iorio, Chattanooga TN; Helene Anderson, Rockville MD; Margaret Ann Connor, Cashiers, N.C; Elizabeth Jean Swanstrom and her husband Stephen, Houston, TX. 2 sisters, Mary Elizabeth Rees, Dallas, and, Agnes H. Palko, Blakeslee: 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville with his grandson Rev. Peter J. Iorio as celebrant. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment with military honors will be at St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
