Thomas R. Seitzinger, Sr., 88, formerly of Pottsville and Port Carbon, died Friday evening at Pinebrook Personnel Care and Retirement Center, Orwigsburg. He was born January 13, 1922 in St. Clair son of the late Thomas B. and Elsie Frorschle Seitzinger. He was a 1939 graduate of St. Clair High School and was employed by the former Reading Railroad and its successor, Conrail, prior to retirement. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Pottsville and was a life member of the former Greenwood Hill Fire Company, Pottsville, where he served as an Assistant Fire Chief and Past President. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Olive Evans and a brother Stanley. Surviving are 2 daughters, Maryann Wherry, Columbus, North Carolina and Elsa Beystrum, Caldwell, Idaho: 2 sons, Thomas R. Seitzinger, Jr., Reading and George Seitzinger and his wife, Joan, Lebanon, New Jersey: 3 step children, Keith and Robert Evans and Nancy Cairns: 9 Grandchildren: nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of the Resurrection at Charles Baber Cemetery with Rev. James A. Rinehart officiating. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
