Dorothy L. Hummel, 86, of Pottsville died Wednesday at home. She was born January 27, 1924 in Fort Smith, Arkansas daughter of the late Claude and Lela Braden King. She was a graduate of Fort Smith High School and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Hummel on December 13, 1996 and a brother, Wayne King. Surviving are 2 sons, Rick Hummel and his wife, Wanda, Warner Robins, Georgia and Gary W. Hummel and his wife, Angie, Pottsville; a daughter, Terri L. Hummel, Pottsville: 2 brothers, Vernon King, Richmond, California and Claude King, Bentonville, Arkansas: a sister, Pauline Buffington, Fairfield, California: 7 grandchildren: 3 great grandchildren: nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with Pastor James Fidler officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M. till the time of service. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 316 W. Market St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
