Hazel Bevan Moran

Hazel Bevan Moran, 91, of Providence Place, Pottsville, died Wednesday night at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville. She was born September 7, 1918 in Syracuse, New York daughter of the late Russell C. and Hazel Sheehan Bevan. She was a 1936 graduate of Pottsville High School and was employed by the former Reading Coal and Iron of Pottsville and most recently by the University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland prior to returning to Pottsville in 2001. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, St. Patrick Seniors and Providence Place Red Hats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Moran, Sr.: 2 sons, Timothy P. Moran and Charles B. Moran, Jr.: 4 brothers, T. Russell Bevan, William H. Bevan, Robert C. Bevan and James R. Bevan: a step mother, Mabel Bevan. Surviving are 2 brothers, J. Richard Bevan and his wife, Lila, Arcadia, California and Donald F. Bevan and his wife, Emma, Pottsville: a sister Diane M. Agosti and her husband, Ermano, Lake Hauto: 2 Sisters in Law, Nancy Bevan and Rose Marie Bevan: Nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
