Ruth F. Pfeiffenberger

Ruth F. Pfeiffenberger, 88, of Schuylkill Haven died Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center - East Norwegian St., Pottsville. She was born April 19, 1921 in Pottsville daughter of the late Harry and Frances Montag Hochgertel. She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven and the Catholic Women's Union of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Pfeiffenberger, Sr. on April 13, 2007: 2 brothers, Robert and Harry Hochgertel: a sister, Anna M. DiCello. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Berger and her husband, Carl, Schuylkill Haven: 2 sons, Joseph R. and his wife, Brenda, Pottsville and Thomas, Douglasville: 8 grandchildren, Jeff Pfeiffenberger, Carleen Mulholland, Kristie Goss, Cheryl Bausher, Tammy Ferguson, Tara Crawford, Trevor Urban, and Alicia Smith: 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. till the time of Mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. Ambrose Memorial, 201 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Interment will be at St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
