Emmett F. Miller, 85, of Pottsville died Wednesday at home. He was born June 8, 1923 in Pottsville son of Eva Bowers Barba and was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School. His places of employment were Bethlehem Steel, prior to entering military service, the former Quality Auto Parts, the former Kelly Electric, the former Pope Motors and Big A Auto Parts, Pottsville. He was a veteran of the army who served with the 793rd Field Artillery Battalion in Europe during World War II. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 129, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Bertha Butts on April 11, 2003. Surviving are 3 daughters, Suzann K. Brehony, Fleetwood, Karen L. Portland and her husband Albert, Pottsville and Marilyn K. Miller, Danville. 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with Rev. James Rinehart officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to PinnacleHealth Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
