Carol A. Murphy, 70, of Pottsvillle died Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was born July 20, 1938 in Pottsville daughter of the late Paul F. and Marie Shields Guensch and was a 1956 graduate of Pottsville High School. She was employed by Sears Roebuck and Company and most recently by Steve Cotler V.I.P. prior to retiring. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville: Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, JFK Division #2, Pottsville: Coal Crackin Red Hats, Pottsville and Historical Society of Schuylkill County. She also volunteered at the Pottsville Soup Kitchen. Surviving are her husband, Robert J. to whom she married on November 14, 1959: 2 sons, Brian Murphy and his wife, Joni, Perkasie: Robert Murphy: Landenberg: 2 daughters, Mary Ann Aprahamian and her husband, James, Roslyn; and Connie Campion and her husband, Patrick, Willow Grove: a brother, Charles P. Guensch, Pottsville: 7 grandchildren: nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at Noon from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. till the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Livin the Dream, 2987 Corporate Court, Suite 300, Orefield, PA 18069. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
