Theresa A. Gaughan, R.N., 79, Pottsville died Wednesday evening at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was born November 17, 1928 in Ellengowan daughter of the late James and Mary Downey Gaughan. She was a graduate of Mahanoy Township High School and Ashland School of Nursing. She was employed by the former Good Samaritan Hospital for 30 years prior to retiring. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and Good Samaritan Hospital Retired Nurses. She was preceded in death by a brother, Austin Gaughan. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Landa, Pine Grove, a son, Michael Gaughan, Pine Grove: a brother, Kyran Gaughan, Bensalem: a sister, Dolores Cooper, Florida: 2 Grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Gaughan: nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday at 10:30 A.M. from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to the Schuylkill Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1402 Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
