Charles A. "Chuck" Moffett, 77, of Pottsville, died Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville. He was born April 1, 1931 in Sylvester Texas, son of the late Onus and Beulah Sorrels Moffett. He was a 15 year Army veteran, who served during the Korean War. A chef by trade, he was employed at various restaurants in the area. He was a member of AMVETS Post 180, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Doris L. Yeager: 2 daughters, Cindy Cerullo and her husband Anthony "Skip", and Sandy Tassone and her husband Don; both of Pottsville: 6 grandchildren, Amy Rivera, Arlington, Virginia, Jill Flores and Tammy Cerullo, Lafayette, Indiana, Brian Cerullo, Ephrata, Tiffany and Tara Tassone, both of Pottsville: 6 great-grandchildren Lauren, Anthony, Matthew, Roman, Mia, and Dominic: 2 sisters, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr., officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7:00 P.M. till time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
