Edmund J. "Ned" Leiby, Jr.

Edmund J. "Ned" Leiby, Jr., 73 of Pottsville, died Friday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
He was born January 18, 1945 in Pottsville son of the late Edmund J. Leiby, Sr. and Margaret D. "Peg" D'Amore Leiby Weikel. He was a 1961 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville.
Ned began his career as a DJ and then started his own business Crystal Sound Production. It was there that he became an active sound contractor. His business became very successful in Pennsylvania and several other states in the Northeast. Ned installed numerous sounds systems for local schools, business and church's. He was also the sound engineer for the Great Pottsville Winter Carnival for many years.
Ned was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
Surviving are his wife Stephanie Mazur Leiby with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage with on May 14, 2018; a daughter, Amanda Leiby, Pottsville; 2 brothers, William G. Leiby and his wife Sandra, Warren OH; Robert J. Weikel, and his wife Barbara, Schuylkill Haven; caregivers Linda and Jim Minnich, Pottsville; Brother-in-law Stephen Mazur and his wife Karyn, and sister-in-law Evelyn Mazur all of Frackville; nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangments are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
