Francis J. O’Donnell, 78, of Pottsville, died Thursday evening April 29th at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.
He was born November 10, 1942 in Pottsville, a son of the late Francis M. and Margaret Feinauer O’Donnell.
He was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School.
Frank was employed by Argo Mills and worked part-time at Boyer’s Food Market, prior to retiring.
He also served six years in the Army National Guard.
Frank was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary L. Talabisco O’Donnell, RN, on June 23, 2016; a sister, Anne Gorman; and 3 brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Thomas O’Donnell.
Surviving is his son, Frank O’Donnell and his wife Dana, Phoenixville; 2 grandchildren, Lila and Benjamin O’Donnell, who Frank adored; 2 sisters, Dorothy Gilliespie, and her husband Bill, Yakima WA; Peg Kaplan, Wells NV; a brother, Daniel O’Donnell, and his wife Maryellen, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 12th 11AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:30AM until the time of Mass. Masks are required. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Frank be made to Donate Life America, 701 East Byrd Street, 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219 (www.donatelife.net/), or the Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville PA, 17901(www.hillsidespca.com/donate/). Inurnment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Chapel Columbarium, at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
