James F. Siket

James F. "Smooth" Siket, 69 of Pottsville, died Wednesday night at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

He was born December 13, 1952 in Shamokin a son of the late Andrew J. Sr. and Veronica Oravitz Siket.

He was a 1970 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.

Over the year's he bartended at many local establishments. He retired from bartending at the Blu Tavern, Llewelyn.

Jim bravely battled aggressive cancer. He always remained positive throughout his illness and fought hard to stay with his family as long as he could.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew J. Siket, Jr., 2021

Surviving are his wife of 43 years Mary Ellen Snyder Siket a son, Adam, Pottsville; granddaughter Charlotte; a sister, Kathleen Boback, Dallas, PA; 3 brothers, Thomas, and his wife Mary Ann, Pottsville; Paul and his wife Chris, Appleton, WI; and Timothy, Ocala, FL; aunts, many nieces, nephews, and cousin; a Brother-in-law Daniel Snyder and his wife Patricia, New Philadelphia and his buddy Dexter the cat:

Memorial Mass of Christian will be celebrated Tuesday at 11AM from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Kevin Bobbin as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jim be made to To Write Love On His Arms PO Box 2203, Melbourne, FL 32902 a non-profit organization that means a lot to his son Adam or to the Pottsville Area Soup Kitchen, C/O St. Patrick Church Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at the convenience of family.
