Janice C. Rehnert

  Janice C. Rehnert, 69 of Pottsville, died Tuesday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.

  She was born April 10, 1953 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Robert P. Sr., and Mary A. Pfluger Rehnert. 

  She was a 1971 graduate of Pottsville Area High School, a 1975 graduate of Penn State University and received her masters degree from Bloomsburg University.

 Prior to retiring Janice was a reading specialist for 35 years where she worked at the John S. Clarke Elementary Center, Pottsville, most of her career.

 Janice was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. A former member of PSEA, Pottsville Area School District Education Association, and NEA.

  She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert P. Rehnert, Jr.; a sister, Mary Joan Gilroy; a nephew Jeffery Williams. 

  Surviving are her 2 sisters, Judith M. Williams, Pottsville; Susanne T. Schaeffer, and her husband Bill, Weatherly; a brother, John L. Rehnert and his wife Gayle, Pottsville; nieces and nephews, a best friend Debra Moran, Pottsville, and many other friends.

  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30AM from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Kevin J. Bobbin as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of mass Monday at the church. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Janice be made to St. John Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Salvation Army 400, Sanderson St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be private at St. John No. 2 Cemetery.
