Joan E. Bondura

Joan E. Bondura, 91, of Pottsville, died peacefully Tuesday, March 29^th in Pottsville.

Born on January 6, 1931 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Pappert Pfluger.

She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and St. Francis College.

Prior to retiring she was an X-Ray technician at the former Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Edward Emil Bondura, on February 10, 2009, along with two sisters, Mary Rehnert and Alma Weller; four brothers, John, Dennis, Richard and Fred Pfluger.

Surviving are three sons, John Michael Bondura and his wife Lori, Richmond, VA; Eric E. Bondura and his wife Vivian, Wilmington, NC; Gregory J. Bondura, Pottsville and his companion Jennifer Jevelle;  two beautiful granddaughters, Valerie Bondura and her fiancé Holden Groves, New York, NY;  Arielle Bondura and her husband Ryan Mcginnis, Tampa, FL; a great-grandson, Owen R. Mcginnis; her niece, caregiver and friend Judy Williams, Pottsville; many nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Jayne Pfluger, Pottsville; Maureen Pfluger, Maplewood, NJ; Anna Mae Bondura, Port Carbon.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes there will be no services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Joan be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
