Joan M. Dewald

Joan M. Dewald, 94 of Pottsville died Monday at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

She was born March 7, 1928 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Paul J. and Catherine Newton White.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School.

Prior to retiring she was employed at Pottsville City Hall where she worked in numerous offices.

Joan was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Dewald; a grandson, John E. Keating; a brother, Joe White; a son-in-law, Dale Repp.

Surviving are her children, Joanne Keating, Pottsville; Bob Dewald, Colorado; Cathy Repp, Pottsville; Mark Dewald, Chester Springs; 5 grandchildren, Alison Keating Odin, Brian and Brad Dewald, Catilin Repp Mohl, Jesse Repp; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex Dewald, Carly, Henry, J.P. & Catherine Mohl, Charlotte Dewald; Nieces and nephews.

As per Joan’s request there will be no services. The family strongly prefers remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Joan be made to DAWGS Prison Program 25 Brier Dr., Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
