John D. "Jack" Hummel, Sr.

John D. "Jack" Hummel, Sr., 81 of Pottsville, died Friday June 28th at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

He was born November 11, 1941, in Baltimore, MD a son of the late John W. and Margaret Krebs Hummel

He was a graduate of St. Clair High School and McCann School of Business.

Jack was a veteran of the Army.

Prior to retiring Jack was the office manager for the Schuylkill Municipal Authority.

He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, St. Clair, Schuylkill Scholar Athlete and former member of St. Clair Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Anne Marie Donnelly Hummel; a son, John D. Hummel, Jr., Salem, MA; a daughter, Kate Hummel, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Service of Remembrance will held Thursday, July 18th at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30AM until the time of services. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jack be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
