Mary L. Dimmerling

  Mary L. Dimmerling, 92 of Providence Place, Pottsville, died Monday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

  She was born December 7, 1926 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Thomas and Marian Campbell.

  She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and Chestnut Hill College.

  Mary was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She also volunteered at the Pottsville Soup Kitchen and former Good Samaritan Hospital and at many other organizations and received the Citizens of the Year Award at the Pottsville Winter Carnival.

  She was preceded in death by her husband William G. Dimmerling, Jr., on March 24, 2004; 2 brothers, James and John Campbell. Surviving are 2 daughters, Molly A. Greenawalt and her husband John, Hummelstown; Lisa Knapp and her husband Robert, Alpharetta, GA: 2 granddaughters, Kelly Heffron, Crofton, MD; Kerry Freed, Wake Forest, N.C.; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at the convenience of the family at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville PA, 17901 or Pottsville Free Public Library, 217 W. Market St. Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be private at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
