A life taken to soon. It is with deepest sorrow that Kim Bartell and Jimmy McGuinness, announce that their beloved son, Michael J. McGuinness, 26 of Pottsville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 14th 2021 leaving a hole in the hearts of his family and friends.
Those that knew Michael, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Michael adored, cherished and loved his daughter Norah, with his entire heart.
An independent contractor with a talent and passion for climbing, trimming and cutting, Michael's expertise was in the high boughs and branches of trees; a skilled he inherited and learned from his dad, Jimmy. Michael truly loved being in trees, but when his feet were on the ground he could be found tinkering with his chainsaws, riding his motor bike or sleeping with his work boots still on from the day's work.
Michael was part of very close family and had numerous friends since childhood and throughout his life. With the heartache of no longer having his bright blue eyes, charming smile and infectious laughter in their lives. In addition to Michael's parents he leaves behind his young daughter, Norah Rose, brother, Patrick, his paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Ann McGuinness, maternal grandparents, George and Catherine Bartell, step-father, Joe Holmes, step-brothers, Joey and Keith, step-sisters Jessica and Harlee; and girlfriend, Megan Rudsill.
Additionally, Michael will be greatly missed by his aunts and uncles, Terry and Rick Alexander, Cathe and George Moyer, Jennifer Rosenberger, Heather and Pat Solley. His cousins, Jeffery Moyer, Codi McGuinness, Allison and Jake Rosenberger, Lauren, Erin and Evan Solley will deeply feel his absence but none more so than Kricket McGuinness of whom both Michael and Patrick thought of as their brother rather than a cousin.
A Celebration of life will held 7PM Friday, May 21st at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5PM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
