Michelle D. Evans

Michelle D. Evans, 63, of Pottsville, died Thursday morning at home.

She was born October 24, 1960, the daughter of Margaret “Peggy” Malick Evans, Pottsville, and the late John F. Evans.

She was a 1978 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Music Education where she also played in the Penn State Blue Band and played at 4 Bowl games.

Prior to retiring she was a music teacher at D.H.H. Lengel Middle School and the John S. Clarke Elementary Center, both of Pottsville.

Michelle was a member of the Mountain Side Bible Church, Palo Alto; PSERS, Cressona Band and the Pottsville Third Brigade Band.

Michelle loved music all her life she played the piano, the organ and the clarinet.

In addition to her father, she was preceded death by her an infant sister, Brenda Jane Evans, a brother, Todd Evans.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by 3 nieces and 1 great-niece.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30AM until the time of services. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Michelle be made to Penn State Blue Band, 101 Blue Band Building, University Park, PA 16802.
