Michelle E. Schuettler

 

  She was born December 18, 1959 in Pottsville and was the daughter of the late Charles H. Ege and Jean Schaeffer Letcher. She was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, class of 1977. 

 

  Michelle was deeply passionate about rescuing and caring for animals. She was the owner and operator of the Dirty Dog Self-Serve Pet Wash and Boutique in Pottsville and also founded the Diamond in the Ruff Pet Rescue through which she found countless animals their forever homes. 

 

  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville and served as a Girl Scout leader for over a decade before she went on to assist in forming Schuylkill Sisters In Scouting. 

 

  In addition to her parents, Michelle was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles H. Ege Jr. Surviving are her husband, Richard Schuettler, with whom she celebrated 35 years of marriage on November 19th; a daughter, Rachael Hobbs and her husband, Shane, Pottsville; a son, Brendan Schuettler, Pottsville; Her beloved grandson, Blake Hobbs, with whom she spent as much as time as possible despite the difficulties of her illness and another expected grandson; a sister Sharon Buckley, Schuylkill Haven; a brother John Ege and his wife Jane, Deer Lake; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her 3 faithful canine companions, Emma, Chance and Finn. 

 

  A service of remembrance celebrating the life of Michelle will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 8:30AM until the time of the service. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition 9935-D Rea Road, #212 Charlotte, NC 28277. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
