Sarah Ann Diven

Sarah Ann Diven, 74, previously of Glenville, PA died Friday, May 22, 2020 at Orwigsburg Manor in Orwigsburg, PA. Sarah was the beloved daughter of Stanley and Ann (nee Graff) Biernat. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Thomas Wesley Diven, with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage

Mrs. Diven was a bookkeeper at the National Security Agency, where she met her husband by happy coincidence in the cafeteria. Following her work as a bookkeeper, she pursued her true passion of cooking and worked in several high-end restaurants. Sarah was an accomplished and sought-after cook. Her true joy was creating dishes and baked goods for her husband Tom, son Scott and her grandchildren Luke and Lila. Through her delicious creations, she shared her love with friends, neighbors and family. She was a treasured wife, daughter, mother and Grammy to her grandchildren.

Sarah leaves a son Scott W. Diven and his wife Erin of Stevens, PA; two grandchildren, Luke and Lila Diven; an aunt Theresa Graff and six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Mitzi Diven, Kevin and Debbe Tanner, Tom and Darla Boocks, William and Sue Diven, Larry and Sharon Diven, and Susan Diven. In addition to her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Ann Biernat, her uncle Daniel Biernat and aunt Alice Biernat.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
