Teresa Mary Rinaldo

  Teresa Mary Rinaldo, 60 of Pottsville, died Wednesday at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

  She was born June 14, 1958 in Pottsville, the daughter of Teresa Mercuri, Schuylkill Haven and the late Natale “Chris” Mercuri.

  She was a 1976 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and attended Penn State University and Kutztown University.

  Prior to retiring she worked as a teacher’s aide at John S. Clarke Elementary Center, Pottsville.

  Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

  Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Charles “Chuck” Rinaldo with whom she celebrated 35 years of marriage on June 12, 2018; 2 daughters, Regina Rinaldo Wozniski and her husband Derek; Maria Rinaldo Luscan and her husband Harry, all of Pottsville; 2 grandchildren Carlo Luscan and Rafaella Wozniski; 3 sisters, Antonette “Tina” Mercuri, Schuylkill Haven; Rosina Mercuri, Pottsville; Natalie Gennerella and her husband Robert, Orwigsburg; a brother, Domenico Mercuri, Pottsville; Uncle John and Aunt Mary Mercuri, Uncle Allen and Aunt Ivana Mercuri, Pottsville; and Nieces, Nephews, Cousins in Pottsville; in addition to Relatives in Italy and Canada.    

  Throughout her life, Mary had a “Happy Place” which she described as spending time with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and family.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11AM from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville with Rev. David J. Loeper as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 8-10:45AM Saturday at the church. There will be no viewing at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, 110 W Laurel Ave, Cheltenham, PA 19012 or Pottsville Soup Kitchen, C/O St. Patrick Church, 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville PA, 17901. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
