William J. Sears

William J. Sears, 62 of Pottsville, died Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.

He was born January 30, 1960, in Piscataway, NJ, a son of the late Wilbur and Florence McGrath Sears.

Bill was a graduate of Piscataway High School.

Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking and fishing and was very close with his family.

He was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Clark.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years Susanne Grabowski Sears; his children Stephanie Getter, and her husband Ronald, Middleport; Billy Sears, Melanie Wiersma, Julia and Joseph Sears, all of Pottsville; 5 grandchildren, Chayse, Jace, Max, Vivian, & Vayda; 2 brothers, Buddy Derespina, Brooklyn, NY; Carl Derespina, Colorado; nieces & nephews.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10AM-12PM Wednesday at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Bill be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901, or American Cancer Society, 712 Keyser Ave, Taylor, PA 18517.
